My Favorite Spammer

My spam filter does a very good job of weeding out the nonsense.

Every day I go into my dashboard and have to delete between 50 and 100 spam comments.

That many comments will go on for a few pages and I usually just hit the Empty Spam button and be done with it. For shits and grins, I’ll scroll through the first page now and then to see if there are any new languages I need to learn. I think Sanskrit looks kind of interesting.

There is one spammer I’ve grown to like. Prada seems to have found some old Brits with nothing better to do than compose comments and spread them around the internet.

I think we could all learn a lesson from Prada on how to compose our comments. It would elevate blogs to a whole new level.

This one today from Prada Online Store:

I wanted to write down a brief note in order to express gratitude to you for all of the remarkable recommendations you are giving out on this website. My rather long internet investigation has now been honored with high-quality tips to share with my family and friends. I would claim that we readers are unequivocally blessed to exist in a fantastic community with very many special professionals with good secrets. I feel truly happy to have used your web page and look forward to some more pleasurable moments reading here. Thanks once again for everything.

It’s hard to tell if it’s the same person or if Prada Outlet taps into the bank of old Brits to work with:

I want to show thanks to the writer for bailing me out of this particular predicament. As a result of looking throughout the search engines and obtaining things that were not beneficial, I figured my entire life was well over. Existing minus the solutions to the problems you have sorted out by means of your main article content is a crucial case, and ones which may have in a negative way damaged my career if I had not noticed your web site. Your personal competence and kindness in handling every item was invaluable. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered such a post like this. I am able to now relish my future. Thanks so much for this specialized and amazing help. I won’t think twice to refer your website to anybody who needs and wants counseling on this matter.

It brings tears to my eyes to know I’ve made such a positive impression on others.

And, of course, what’s a post on spam without some spam…

  1. love that spam bit! Problem i am going to be singing SPAM all day today.

    1. That was an intentional inclusion just for that to happen Dan.

      Have a wonderful day…

  2. KEN: DON’T KNOW IF YOU GOT THIS BUT THE QUESTION POSED BY YOUR DAUGHTER AND YOUR ANSWER WAS PERFECT—COULDN’T HAVE ANSWERED BETTE MYSELF!!!

    1. Thanks Chuck. It’s been a long time since I’ve paid a visit to the Lunkerbusters. I should fix that soon. Living in Yorkville now rather than Elmhurst keeps me out this way.

  3. Ken,
I’ve got one here from today’s spambox that will probably apply to your post as well: “sexdate” sez: “Hello you have a fantastic blog over here! Thanks for sharing this interesting stuff for us. If you keep up the great work I’ll visit your blog again.” Thanks sexdate, I’m really looking forward….Other favorite losers include your prada joker and lista de emails. Ken, this is why we need to fish!

    1. I think they think anyone with a blog wants more sex Walt. I’d prefer more fishing time at this point 🙂

I should see how much being a spammer pays, I can come up with some pretty good stuff. Good writing practice.

  4. I know that this is an issue for all bloggers, but because blogger does such a good job with keeping spam out I’m able to sit back and relax and enjoy some of the asinine posts. My only fear is that they will figure out if they learn the English language that it will be harder to detect. So thanks for your brilliant note that sings to my heart and make more sense. I will recommend my friends and hope that you do them as well.

    1. You do speak very good broken English Howard. I am much flattered, very.

  5. Wow, And I though it was just us “noobs” in the blogging world that had to deal with this stuff. I get a lot of spams out of Spain selling everything from condos to financial advise. I think they use a computer to translate their posts which makes them kind of fun to read, but I would rather not get that garbage at all.

    1. Ricky, I’ve tried everything I could think of and it just won’t go away. At least the filter catches it all. It has been tempting to let some go through, they can be fun to read.

  6. Honestly this post almost makes me a little sad that I don’t get more spam messages. Gives me something to shoot for I suppose 😀

    1. Austin, they continued for a couple of more days and then disappeared. Whoever they are, they must have got a better paying job.
