My friend Bob Long Jr. is being inducted into the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame at the end of March. But that’s not what this is about.
Bob is also one of the most well rounded anglers I know. Phenomenal fly tyer, fly fisherman, angler of many rods. But this isn’t about that either.
Bob is an excellent photographer turned what he calls, photo/artist. That’s what this is about.
At age 21 he was in his first art show at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago. At age 61 he’s about to have his second show at Murphy Hill Gallery. To put on a show like this incurs costs. Costs that he doesn’t completely have. He came across a site called Kickstarter. It’s a way of getting projects funded.
Rather than try to explain how this all works, I think you should take out a minute and go look at what Bob is doing on Kickstarter. He’s hoping to get this project fully funded by the end of the month. If any can help, please do.
These are the images that will be in the show.
I’ll bet some of you are looking at Kickstarter and thinking, hmmmmm.
What goes around comes around. If you can help Bob, he might help you.
While you’re looking around, you should go visit Bobs’ flickr site. Lots of images to peruse.
Thanks again if you can help and if not, enjoy the images.

10 Mar 2011I don’t think you have to guess how I feel about that.
I look at his flicker page all the time. Photoshop? Sure, but damn it looks so good.

Really is great stuff to peruse.

6 Mar 2012I would feel sorry for Bob for too long break between his two shows but I couldn’t, for his fantastic job. What he did it and how! Snaps are really amazing. I don’t wanna to call him only a photographer, he is an artist, a marvelous artist.
