In the 30 seconds it took to run into the house and grab my camera, nearly half the color in the sunset had gone away.
I’m unemployed and near broke.
According to some, I’m virtually unemployable.
Over qualified for most.
Under qualified for others.
Too old for most, or so I’ve been told.
It’s frustrating, depressing and moments of overwhelming sadness wash over me in massive waves.
But I live for moments like these.
For those moments when you stare in awe at the absolute perfect combination of clouds and color during those last few minutes, seconds of daylight.
At that moment I am the happiest, richest man on earth.
To me, anyway.

6 Jan 2012The sunrise this morning was incredibly awesome this morning as well! I had left for the office early, but around 7am my wife sent me a quick message telling me to check it out. Pretty cool…amazing sunrise and sunset all in one day!

6 Jan 2012I was out there this morning as well. Mine was speckled by hundreds of ducks and geese coming off the river and flying over my house.

6 Jan 2012It was awesome. Right about the time I noticed it, an ambulance pulled into the driveway of the house my kids were playing at. I assumed the worst and ran to investigate. Thankfully it was a minor injury to a gentleman that lives behind my neighbor and the kids were fine. By the time I regained sanity the clouds were dark and lifeless. Little blessings ken, they all count.

6 Jan 2012To this day, and my kids are much older, when they look like they’re stumbling and falling I can feel my stomach drop. In other words, that never goes away.
Apparently my younger one was watching the same thing, 40 miles away. She posted a shot on Facebook. Very cool indeed.
