I haven’t been out fishing since December 2, 2012, an unusually long time for me to go and not fish somewhere. On that day I caught a couple of these…
And a couple of these…
I got out briefly today and threw a lure in some water. Where I did this I expected nothing and I got what I expected. The rivers and creeks are high, a bit fast and muddy. They’re also cold. Much like the air so far this late winter or early meteorological spring. But I had to give it a try.
Was nice to find out that once you develop muscle memory for some things, it never goes away.
Now to wait for the fish to play catch up.

16 Mar 2013March 22nd of last year I was fishing in a t-shirt. I’ll take back to normal, no drought and normal water levels thought. All I know is that some sumbitch better not go messin’ with me while I wait, wait, wait… My patience only goes so far.

16 Mar 2013I hear you Ken. I agree with Bob…breathe. Didn’t work for me either. Soon, soon, soon.

16 Mar 2013I have all my gear and waders in the car Howard. After leaving that spot I seriously considered going to one of my winter fishing spots where I know I’d catch fish.
Then I shuddered at the thought of standing in crotch deep 38 degree water and went home where it’s nice and warm…

17 Mar 2013From what I’ve seen you posting, you have green things coming out of the ground already. We have nothing. At least I don’t. Someone recently said, fish eat all winter.
Well, yeah, about once a week instead of once an hour like during the warmer months.
Soon, soon, it will be warm soon.
