With my 60 hr per week profession, I too worshipped while fishing and working in my yard on Sundays. Now that I’m retired, I can worship God in church on Sundays and continue to do so in the woods and on the streams during the week.
First while wanting to be an architect, then to get my art degree I studied intently all the great temples and churches around the world. None of them come close to some of the things I’ve seen on the rivers and creeks. I’m assuming if there is a God out there, he’ll understand why I chose to stay outside Dick.
Bless you for your thoughts Ken. He’s out there all right. Simply to see the beautiful land and waters but also the Big Bang, DNA and for us veterinarians, the inner workings of living things.
There’s probably plenty of opportunity to use a fly rod Nat, but even where I took this photo it would almost impossible. And there was a very nice, deep, fish filled pool to my left… and a tree practically sitting on my head.

16 Jul 2013I always liked the Thomas Jefferson train of thought I’ll butcher here…
There’s some thing, some being, call it God that set everything in motion. Then he left us on our own.

15 Jul 2013bob should use a 6foot flyrod. They work well on the creeks.

16 Jul 2013I had to do primarily roll casts with the fly rod and will likely stick with spin on the creeks with my new supply of 3″ grubs.
