Today I could see, feel and smell a slight shift in the season.
Meteorologically after all, summer is two thirds of the way to being over.
I sit outside on my daily half hour lunch break.
I couldn’t help but notice today that the sun is slightly lower in the sky and the shadows are slightly longer.
The feel and smell are harder to describe.
The wind is both warm and cool.
For as much vegetation that is still growing, just as much is starting to die off.
I can smell that musty odor of decay.
This slight shift in the season is fine by me.
Fall is my favorite time of year and if it starts a little early, I can live with that.
As long as it doesn’t end too soon and winter sets in too early.

Sorry to all for not getting around reading and commenting on your blogs.
Sorry for not responding to comments here on the little I’ve put up this summer.
I’m approaching 20 minutes of sitting here doing this.
That’s enough.
Time to head back outside.

31 Jul 2014Sometimes it’s just good enough to know you care. 😉 Beautiful picture by the way.

31 Jul 2014Thanks Howard. I’ve been trying to get around to read more, but then I get distracted by clouds out the window and have to go look for more.
I am lucky to live a couple of blocks from a river that gives up a good sunset now and then.

4 Aug 2014Never let the writing get in the way of the experiencing!! We’ve had a mild summer, but I’m looking forward to fall anyway. Here in Florida, autumn as you know it doesn’t really start until mid-October, so we’ve got a bit longer to go. Good to hear from you!

4 Aug 2014Thanks Jim.
Was in a hurry when I read your latest the other day and didn’t reply.
Boats hate me. Classic.
We all seem to have something that is after us while out there. I seem to have many.
