Okay, maybe I’ve put up a number of them that can be called Photo Tip Number One, but I’ll be damned if I can find them on my own site.
Don’t shoot into the sun.
Yet I continue to do it against all the advice not to.
I like the unexpected sun flare, the odd purple color radiating from that and the shadow streaks heading my way, more or less.
I like the way leaves get back lit, how the fallen leaves shimmer and shine on the forest floor and how the tree trunks turn brown black.
I like how the sky blue sky intensifies around the edges.
So, do as I say, not as I do.
Don’t shoot into the sun.
As for me, I guess I’ll never learn.

13 Nov 2014I can’t help but think that you and I are a lot alike Ken. I don’t follow anybody elses rules and sometimes get spectacular results.

14 Nov 2014I tend to not pay any attention to rules Howard. You can’t be accused of breaking rules if you don’t know anything about them to begin with. I guess that’s why I tend to shrug a lot and say “really?”

13 Nov 2014Great photo. Only downside is the permanent squint you’ll be wearing. Of course, I got that from age anyway.

14 Nov 2014No kidding Jim. A lot of times I have to stand there for a minute so I don’t walk into a tree or into a ditch. We had a partial eclipse here a few weeks ago, didn’t have my camera on me. Of course I had to look directly at it…

14 Nov 2014Outlaw photography worked well in this case. Wish it worked better for me.

14 Nov 2014I have a lot of failed photo’s Walt. I just shoot and hope for the best most of the time.

14 Nov 2014Don’t forget to load film in the camera – oh, wait, I’m showing my age again.

14 Nov 2014Or, as I found out the other day Rick, learn where the battery indicator is located.
