I’ve floating rapalas, size 7 9siler, gold, char over white), bagley honey b crawfish color, productos in brown with char tail, pearl, smoke, yum crawbug, mini mites, rapala husky jerk, “Cool Jerk” by the Capitals, and “96 Tears” by Question Mark and the Mysterians in case I don’t catch nuthin’.
oh and zara spooks and zara puppies and yamamoto senkos for a little surface action which I never, ever get on the fox but always try

16 Sep 2013Bob, you wouldn’t believe how many fish I catch while stopping to light a cigar. Six feet of line out and whack. That’s why I never switch from what I like to use and why I just let it sit there floating around. 90 percent of fish are in negative feeding mode at any given time, but they’ll always hit something that’s just wiggling around in front of their face.
I haven’t gone north of Boulder Hill this year. Oswego to Yorkville is my favorite. So far this year I’ve seen 3 other anglers. They weren’t catching anything and none lasted more than 45 minutes. Which is why this is my favorite stretch. Besides the fact that I always catch something.

16 Sep 2013The sun going down so early is screwing up my sunset cruises Mike. Earliest I can get to the river is about 5:45. About an hour and a half of daylight left, it’s not enough. I’ll be out both days this weekend I hope.
I seem to tie into one 18 inch smallie every time I go out lately. Nice bonus fish, but they’ve been pretty sluggish. I’m hoping the cooler water will make them a bit more aggressive soon.

19 Sep 2013Fortunately, I’m retired. Went out this am at 6:30. One of my favorite spots for previous flyfishing off Maple St. Oswego. Couple of deep holes and current. Nada caught on spinning gear but I definitely got in my aqua aerobics workout and balance strengthening so I don’t need someone to hold my hand. Dick
